Newsletter - Spring 2016
  Greetings!

Another winter passed in New England, and life is bursting forth all around us.

Winter is usually a time for slowing down and reflecting before the Spring. That has not been the case for us this year at HNNH. It's been an incredibly busy and rewarding time which you can read about below.

We continue to be inspired by the people we get to interact and share with on a regular basis, and we are incredibly grateful for being able to share the journey toward better health on all levels.

We hope that this newsletter gives you information that helps in this journey.

Award Winning Care
Accolades & Announcements

HNNH is proud to be the recipient of three awards this year. They were especially significant as they were patient initiated and a complete surprise to us.

  • Dr Bier was chosen as a Top Doctor by the readers of New Hampshire Magazine.
  • HNNH was recognized as one of the Top Portsmouth Acupuncture practices.
  • Our website was awarded Best of Naturopathic Websites by Pacific Medical Training

Additionally, Dr Bier was chosen to give two lectures at the Oncology Association for Naturopathic Physicians' national conference. One was on natural treatments for Cancer Stem Cells, and the other on how to read the research literature to optimize patient care. Both lectures were very well received.

Our focus has always been on patient care, and our success as a practice is solely based on patients' spreading the word about the work we do. The recognition is appreciated more than we can possibly convey, and we promise to continually strive to improve our care and service to you, our community.

Sunscreen Use & Melanoma

With the beginning of the sunny season, a frequent question that comes up is what sunscreen we recommend. When I answer 'a good tan', I get many surprised looks.

While I'm not suggesting that we all slather on the suntan oil and sit with reflectors, the paranoia about getting sun exposure and tans is not well backed in the research literature. ...read more >>>
